Okay so far we’ve covered how we do Disney World with our little ones and what is in our park bag. We still have so much to discuss and I’m excited about today’s subject…food. 😋 One of the many things Disney knows how to do is yummy, delicious food. Eating and trying new foods is one thing I always look forward to on our upcoming trips! I could seriously talk Disney food all day…don’t judge me, I like to eat. There are also so many options when it comes to food at Disney that it can seem a little overwhelming at first. I’m going to break these up into different posts and today’s is going to focus on our top 5 snacks at WDW. Let’s eat…ehhh I mean, let’s get started.

Number 5: Soft Serve Ice Cream in a Waffle Cone
I totally know you can get soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone anywhere, but there’s just something about these sweet treats that I so look forward to each trip. It started in 2012 on my first “adult” trip to Disney World. I went with a friend/co worker to a nursing conference that was being held there and when we weren’t learning, we were hitting up the parks! That is where my love/obsession with all things Disney really began. My friend suggested getting one of these sweet treats as a dessert one afternoon while we were in Animal Kingdom. I got chocolate, of course. I don’t know if it’s because of the location (the Most Magical Place on Earth) or if it is really good ice cream, but it became one of those things that I just have to have every single time we visit. There are a few locations to get these cones in the parks, but my favorite spot is a little food cart called, “Anandapur Ice Cream Truck” in Animal Kingdom. These delicious treats are $4.99 plus tax.
Number 4: Night Blossom
Another crowd favorite from my little family is this refreshingly sweet frozen drink. It has flavors of apple, pear and lime and it mixes together so well. There are also these fun little boba balls on top. I think it would actually be a little higher on this list if my husband had anything to do with it. When we were visiting Pandora in Animal Kingdom this summer, this was the perfect little pick me up during the middle of the day to help cool us off. Not only is it really tasty, it’s really pretty to look at as well. I did find this to be super sweet so sharing might be a good option if you don’t have a big sweet tooth. The one we tried was non-alcoholic and priced at $5.99 plus tax, but there is an alcoholic version available.

Number 3: Warm Cinnamon Roll
When you are on vacation, calories don’t count…right? You definitely don’t need to count the calories in this one. It is a huge cinnamon roll that is served warm and covered in sticky sweet icing. My first one of these was when I was pregnant with our son and I was supposed to be sharing it with my husband and little girl…I think we ended up buying another one…oops. This warm cinnamon roll is located at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. We like to get one to share (except for that one time) and have it for breakfast while we drink coffee and people watch in the morning. This cinnamon roll is $5.99 plus tax. This is a great way to use a snack credit if you are on the dining plan (don’t worry, I will explain more later about this).

Number 2: Mickey Beignets
This was really hard to put as a number 2…but for the sake of a list that doesn’t have two number 1’s, here it is. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter this summer and I fell in love with everything about this resort! I loved the laid back atmosphere, the New Orleans style and the yummy food! One of my all time Disney snacks are these beignets that are Mickey shaped covered in powdered sugar. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. It’s kind of hard to explain a beignet if you’ve never tried one ,but it is sort of like a doughnut, but lighter. It’s best to eat them while they are still warm to get the full “melt in your mouth experience”. Seriously, I would drive 600 miles for one of those right about now. For $4.49 plus tax you can get 3 beignets or 1 snack credit if you are on the dining plan. You can also get 6 beignets for $6.99 plus tax. These could also be shared if you are just wanting a snack. I couldn’t ever eat all 3 at once. There are dipping sauces available for an extra charge, but honestly they are delicious the way they come.

Number 1: Pineapple Dole Whip Float
We have arrived at my absolute must have/favorite treat on every single trip…the infamous Dole Whip Float. I usually don’t have just one while we are there..it’s more like one a day and I am not even sorry about it. This was another one of those things that I tried back in 2012 and was hooked! It is Dole pineapple juice served with Dole pineapple soft serve ice cream. There are other options for the soft serve ( Vanilla Dole Whip or Swirl Dole whip), but to be completely honest I only have eyes for the pineapple/pineapple combo. We usually get our dole whip floats at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, but there are now more locations serving this delightful treat with one being the Polynesian Resort. We like to mobile order our floats to avoid the crazy long lines (they really are this popular!) and then go sit down near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and people watch/take a break (I promise we aren’t weird and only stare at people while on vacation). These are a perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day…or really anytime while you are in Magic Kingdom. I have yet to find a bad time for a dole whip float. They are $5.99 plus tax and worth every single penny. Have I mentioned how much I love these things?

That wraps up our top 5 snack credits at Walt Disney World. This list could definitely change as we try new snacks, but these will definitely be favorites either for sentimental reasons or we just are creatures of habit and must try them every time we visit. I would love to know if any of these are your family favorites too or if there are other snacks that make your top 5! I did want to mention that all of these items listed are one snack credit if you are on the dining plan. I will do another post on the dining plan soon, but I always try to find options that will be a good use of our credits and I have found that all 5 of the snacks we talked about today are definitely snack credit worthy!
Thanks again for following along with me and if you need help planning your next vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth and trying to decide where to find the best snacks, I am your girl!
